Se trata, as, de una experiencia narrativa equvoca, cuyo principal eje es la memoria, pues se desarrolla en la distancia que media entre lo vivido y lo evocado. Jos Mara Pozuelo, catedrtico de la Universidad de Murcia y uno de los principales tericos y crticos literarios de nuestro pas, ofrece aqu una profunda reflexin sobre los mecanismos y caractersticas de la escritura autobiogrfica, que complementa con el anlisis de cinco maestros de la transformacin de la propia vida en materia literaria: Rafael Alberti, Carlos Castilla del Pino, Jos Manuel Caballero Bonald, Philip Roth y Roland Barthes.
