En general, la historia de la vitivinicultura mendocina entre fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX ha sido estudiada y analizada en masculino, salvo contadas excepciones. El presente estudio pretende incorporar a las mujeres como protagonistas de dicha actividad junto a los varones para que el conocimiento histrico de la misma sea completo e integral. Ellas, sin importar estratos sociales o procedencias, han estado desde antiguo vinculadas a la vitivinicultura regional: a travs de la donacin de tierras para el cultivo de la vid o junto al esposo inmigrante entre las cepas; al frente de bodegas o como cosechadoras en tiempos de vendimia y operarias todo el ao en los grandes establecimientos. Este libro ofrece a los investigadores de las Ciencias Sociales un acercamiento a la historia de la vitivinicultura desde la perspectiva de gnero para comprender mejor no solo la principal actividad industrial de Mendoza (Argentina) sino tambin estudiar y conocer a la sociedad en su conjunto.
