Providing a compilation of thirty one projects and completed works from across the world, this book examines the conceptual route from station to city across urbanised spaces. Organised into four acts, it also bears witness to challenges met over the last ten years by the AEZP engineering firm (Amenagement, Recherche, Poles d'Echanges), part of the SBCF group. Using the theme of mobility as its unifying thread, a new city concept is being created through the use of rail and urban transport networks that increasingly place emphasis on the privileged place held by pedestrians in the newly adapted city. Other low impact modes of travel are accompanying this change, associated with the rediscovery of nature within the city setting, a way of combining pleasure with exploration into sustainable urban development.
By changing our most important processes and
products, we have already made a big leap forward. This ranges from the
increased use of more sustainable fibers to the use of more
environmentally friendly printing processes to the development of
efficient waste management in our value chain.
