Esta publicacin agrupa tres escritos, en el primero relativo al Trauma Psquico, se destaca la idea que los factores que intervienen en la configuracin de un trauma psquico no estan determinados por el exceso de elementos que ingresan al psiquimos humano en un determinado momento y que sobrepasan la capacidad de manejo de la persona sino tambien de manera importante las diferencias de cualidad entre los elementos que ingresan y la naturaleza misma del sujeto que lo recibe. En el segundo ensayo se estrablece cual seria la funcin psicolgica y grupal de la mujer en el funcionamiento de las organizaciones tribales primitivas. Se destaca su papel, no solo como madre encargada del cuidado de sus hijos sino tambien como recolectora y proveedora; figura dominante puesto que tambien tenia en sus manos el poder de alimentar y curar alcanzando en muchos de estos grupos una condicin de deidad. Estos hechos crean una argumentacin que busca refutar la condicin de pasividad y sumisin asignada a la mujer por Freud en su libro Totem y Tabu. Finalmente se pone de relieve la utilidad de la psicoterapia.
