Deadlands is set in the Weird West, an alternate history where mysterious beings called the Reckoners have given life to monsters and magic. California has shattered into a labyrinth of flooded seacanyons, and a mysterious superfuel called ghost rock has spawned as much war and strife as it has steampunk devices. Players are steelyeyed gunfighters, cardslinging sorcerers called hucksters, mysterious shamans, savage braves, mad scientists, and more who battle against evil. The core book for Deadlands: The Weird West is a 196page hardcover book, in our usual graphic novel size, and glorious, bloody, fullcolor throughout. It requires Savage Worlds core rules to play.

I really wanted to love the Deadlands rulebook, but it arrived with a bent cover. It’s a shame because the content looks fantastic. I contacted customer service, but the wait time was a bit long. I hope future orders are handled better.

Fun but a bit complex for new players
As a long-time tabletop gamer, I find the Deadlands core rulebook intriguing, but I think it might be a bit overwhelming for newbies. There’s a lot to digest with the setting and mechanics, but once you get the hang of it, it’s super rewarding. Just wish the layout was a bit clearer!

Great addition to our RPG nights!
I got the Deadlands: The Weird West core rulebook for our regular RPG group, and it's been a blast. The rules are easy to follow, and the art is just stunning. My friends love the unique setting and character options, making our sessions so much more fun!
