Product Description Death of a Gunslinger is Howard's thirteenth AVALON western. From the Inside Flap When his wife died, Wyatt Walker left his twoyearold son, Wes, with relatives. That was eleven years ago, and the boy hasn't seen his father since. He's heard about hin, though, because Wyatt Walker has become one of the most infamous gunslingers in the West. So when Wyatt Walker arrives abruptly in Abilene to reclaim his halfgrown son, the boy has very mixed feelings. His father is proposing that the two of them spend the winter looking for gold in the distant San Juan Mountains. But there are Apache warriors in those mountains, not to mention grizzly bears. And hot on Wyatt's trail is a vengeful outlaw gang, determined to hunt him down. As Wes and Wyatt set out for the hills, both father and son suspect quite rightly that death waits for them around every bend. About the Author A retired teacher, Howard Pelham lives in Denver, Colorado, and devotes himself to fulltime writing. He is a meticulous researcher and will often spend weeks in the vicinity where a novel is set. Howard has written and published a number of western short stories. His first was the basis for Twelve Wagons West, his first novel, published by AVALON.
