Allgemeine Entwicklungen wie die Liberalisierung der Mrkte, der Abbau von Handelshemmnissen und besonders der technologische Fortschritt haben Unternehmungen vor neue Herauforderungen gestellt. Verbunden mit Vernderungen in den Rahmenbedingungen der Branche und sinkenden Gewinnen, sind nun auch die Banken in Deutschland gezwungen, sich Vernderungen zu unterwerfen. Sie mssen ihre Unternehmungsgrenzen hinterfragen und ihre Geschftsfelder berdenken. Dies hat auch fr ihre Wertschpfungsketten erhebliche Folgen. Aus dieser Problemstellung lassen sich folgende Forschungsfragen ableiten, die im Rahmen dieser Arbeit betrachtet werden: Welche Auswirkungen resultieren aus den derzeitigen Entwicklungen fr die typische Wertschpfungskette einer (deutschen) Universalbank? Welche unterschiedlichen Wertschpfungsarchitekturtypen sind mglich und wie sind diese zu bewerten? Wie kann ein Entscheidungsmodell aussehen, das den Manager bei der Wahl einer sinnvollen Wertschpfungsarchitektur untersttzt?
