Inwiefern ist der Rationalitatsanspruch sozialwissenscha licher Expertise berechtigt, oder wieweit handelt es sich dabei lediglich urn die Erzeugung eines auBeren Scheins technischer Entscheidungsrationalitat? Welche Schwierigkeiten, aber auch welche strategischen Moglichkeiten ergeben sich bei der 'Uber setzung' sozialwissenschaftlicher Aussagen in praktische Empfeh lungen? Und schlieBlich: Enthalt das Wissensangebot der Soziologie Aussagen, die sich, ahnlich wie die der Ingenieurwissenschaften, technisch umsetzen lassen? Die Beantwortung dieser Fragen ist nicht nur innerhalb der Sozialwissenschaften, sondern auch in der Offentlichkeit um stritten. Sie enthalt dann besondere Bedeutung, wenn man sich das tatsachliche AusmaB der Verwissenschaftlichung vor Augen flihrt. Noch 1968 konnte Jlirgen Habermas in seinem Aufsatz 'Verwissenschaftlichte Politik und offentliche Meinung' von einer bloBen Tendenz zur Verwissenschaftlichung der Politik 1 sprechen ).
