Forfatteren er uddannet gartner og var i 36 r af Undervisningsministeriet ansat som gartner ved Stiftelsen Sor Akademi. Her trdte forfatteren i det smukke parkanlg ad stier, som tidligere var benyttet af digteren og forfatteren B.S. Ingemann og eventyrdigteren H.C. Andersen, som ofte besgte Ingemann. Her udviklede forfatterens fortlleglde sig, og de frste eventyr blev skrevet ned og fortalt for de tre brn. Der blev dog aldrig dengang gjort forsg p at samle de sm fortllinger og bringe dem til udgivelse. Det er frst sket efter pensionering og i en moden alder, hvor forfatteren erhvervede sig computer og tilegnede sig viden om, hvordan den skulle bruges.
