Dabei entwickelt Diderot nicht nur seine Gedanken ber das Schauspiel, sondern auch ber eine der wichtigsten daran beteiligten Personen: den Schauspieler. Dabei lassen sich leicht Unterschiede zwischen den beiden gegen Ende der 1750erJahre erschienenen Texten Entretiens sur le fils naturel und De la posie dramatique auf der einen Seite und dem rund 20 Jahre spter verfassten Paradoxe sur le comdien auf der anderen Seite feststellen. In diesem Buch sollen die fraglichen Unterschiede benannt werden, um anschlieend zu klren, wie gravierend diese Differenzen sind. So kann schlielich die Frage untersucht werden, inwieweit Diderot in seiner Schauspielertheorie eine inhaltliche Kehrtwende vollfhrt hat. Zu diesem Zweck soll zunchst geklrt werden, ob die Sprecher der beiden vorwiegend in Dialogform geschriebenen Texte Entretiens sur le fils naturel und Paradoxe sur le comdien wirklich reprsentativ fr Diderots Ansichten sind. Im Anschluss wird die in den Texten vorgenommene Unterscheidung zwischen Lebenswelt und Bhne betrachtet, auf welcher die Notwendigkeit der Konstruktion eines Idealmodells fut. Nach der Untersuchung der Konzeption eines Idealmodells kann dann im Hauptteil des Buches der Unterschied zwischen Diderots frhen' und spten' Theorien ber den Schauspieler entlang der zentralen Begriffe Empfindsamkeit, Beobachtungsgabe und Urteilsvermgen aufgezeigt werden.
