Product Description Michael Buthes (19441994) knstlerische Arbeit setzt in den spten 1960er Jahren ein. In vielgestaltigen knstlerischen Konsequenzen, wie zum Beispiel den zerrissenen Leinwnden, berhrte er die am Material und einer kulturellen Befreiung orientierten Handlungsrume derArte Povera. In den 1970er Jahren entwickelte er seinen Weg fr die Kontinuitt der Malerei. Seine Transformationen von Ausstellungsrumen, zum Beispiel die Ausstellung Michael Buthe/Le Dieux de Babylon (1973/74), durchziehen sein Werk alsWork in Progress und liefern das knstlerische Potential, das seine grozgigen Bewegungen zwischen Malerei und Skulptur mglich machte. Seine Ausstellungen Inch Allah (1984) und Primavera Pompejana (1989) sprechen diese Sprache. Kulturelle Befreiung und knstlerische Selbstbestimmung sind dabei untrennbar miteinander vernetzt. Buthes selbstverstndlicher Umgang mit spirituellen/mystischen Inhalten bewegt sich auf einem schmalen Grat an der Grenze zur Absurditt des Kunstwerkes. Sein Interesse an andersdenkenden Menschen wie zum Beispiel Zarathustra, Ramn Llull, Franz von Assisi oder auch Antonin Artaud ist in den knstlerischen Prozess auf dialogische Art eingewoben. Die Bedeutung seines knstlerischen Werkes fr die kulturelle ffnung der Kunst seit den 1990er Jahren ist unausweichlich. Buthe htte zu den groen berblicksausstellungen Les Magiciens de la Terre (1989) und Traces du Sacr (2008/09) grundlegende Beitrge leisten knnen. Es gilt, die Ernsthaftigkeit seiner knstlerischen Arbeit, deren Spuren er zu seinen Lebzeiten zu verrtseln wusste, wahrzunehmen. Ihre Publikationen umfassen u. a. eine Monographie zu Paul Thek, Katalogtexte zu Joseph Beuys, Michael Buthe, Walter Dahn, Chris Newman, Stephan Reusse, Rosemarie Trockel, und anderen Knstlern und Knstlerinnen. Sie veranstaltete Ausstellungen und Projekte u. a. mit JeanMarie Biwer, Christa Nher, Stephan Reusse und Marion Anna Simon.
