Mit dieser Verlagerung steigt die Komplexitt der Wertschpfungskette und mit ihr der Koordinationsbedarf der Unternehmen. Es findet kein Wettbewerb mehr zwischen den Unternehmen, sondern vielmehr zwischen den Wertschpfungsketten statt1. Die letzten Optimierungspotentiale um Wettbewerbsvorteile zu erringen, liegen in der Art und Weise wie der Gter und Informationsfluss gehandhabt wird. Dieses Potenzial auszuschpfen, ist die Aufgabe des Supply Chain Management (SCM), das dabei immer wieder mit einem Phnomen konfrontiert wird, welches Unsicherheiten erzeugt und somit Kosten verursacht. Dieses Phnomen wird BullwhipEffekt genannt und uert sich durch zunehmende und unntige Bestell und Nachfrageschwankungen innerhalb der Wertschpfungskette. Anders ausgedrckt: Die tatschliche Nachfrage des Endkonsumenten spiegelt nicht die Produktionsmenge des ersten Kettengliedes wider. Experten vermuten, dass die Reduzierung des BullwhipEffekts die Profitabilitt der Unternehmen um 8,4 20,1 Prozent steigern knnte2. Diese Zahlen zeigen, welche Wichtigkeit und Prioritt der BullwhipEffekt in der Praxis hat bzw. haben sollte. Ziel der Arbeit ist es den BullwhipEffekt auf der verbalen, visuellen und formalen Ebene zu erlutern, seine Ursachen zu identifizieren und theoretische Gegenmanahmen zur Beseitigung aufzuzeigen. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, ist der strukturelle Aufbau folgendermaen: Der erste Teil der Arbeit befasst sich mit der Begriffserklrung. Dabei werden der BullwhipEffekt und das Supply Chain Management ausfhrlich erlutert.
