Tatsache ist, dass die Bevlkerung Deutschlands immer lter und weniger wird und daraus Herausforderungen fr Politik und Wirtschaftsgeschehen. Ab 1. Mai 2011 werden die Tren fr Osteuroper aus Lndern, die 2004 der EU beigetreten sind, offen stehen. Polen, Tschechen, Slowaken, Slowenen, Ungarn und Balten knnen dann nach Deutschland kommen, ohne lange Wartezeiten, in denen frher geprft wurde, ob dieser Arbeit nicht ein deutscher Erwerbsttige zur Verfgung stehe. Diese Manahme ist eine Reaktion auf den Mangel an jungen und vor allem qualifizierten Fachkrften, der uns in Deutschland bevorsteht. Leider kommt diese Manahme etwas zu spt. Die qualifizierten und hochqualifizierten Arbeitskrfte haben schon andere Lnder nach der EUOsterweiterung 2004 umworben und fr sich gewonnen. Diese gesetzliche Manahme reiht sich ein zur debattierten Frauenquote' und Regelung der Rente ab 67. Auf politischer Ebene wird reagiert, jedoch scheint die Wirtschaft etwas zu zgern. So unterscheidet sich die Aussage von 2000: Gegenwrtig wird das Problem des demographischen Wandels in den Betrieben unzureichend wahrgenommen.' nicht sonderlich von der 2007: Die Bedeutung demographischer Vernderungen fr das eigene Unternehmen ist noch gar nicht erkannt worden' . Kurzum mssen die Probleme hinsichtlich der lter und weniger werdenden Erwerbsttigen erkannt werden, und die Chancen die die lteren Konsumenten auf dem Absatzmarkt bieten genutzt werden, um positiv gegen den demographischen Wandel zu steuern.
