Dies bedeutet, dass es immer weniger nur auf die Inhalte des Lernens ankommen wird. Wichtiger wird es sein, dass Lernen ein aktiver Prozess des Aneignens ist, den alle Menschen erfahren mssen. Nicht das Nachsprechen von Vorgetragenem (Papageiendidaktik), sondern das selbstttige Lernen ist fr die Zukunft von groer Bedeutung. Seiner Meinung nach knnen Fach, Methoden sowie Sozialkompetenzen nicht mehr isoliert voneinander getrennt betrachtet werden, da sie eine Einheit bilden, die integrierend von jedem Individuum entwickelt werden mssen. Hierzu mu sich die Lernkultur in den Bildungseinrichtungen ndern. Notwendig ist eine Lernkultur, die nicht selbst dementiert, was sie ermglichen sollte. Notwendig ist ein Ende der Kultur fremdorganisierten Lernens und eine strkere Bercksichtigung von Formen eines selbstorganisierten und selbstgesteuerten Lernens. Mit diesen Grundannahmen begrndet Arnold seinen Wandel der Lernkulturen. Um diesen Wandel zu beschreiben, ist es aber notwendig, die Unterscheidung zwischen der 'alten' und der 'neuen' Lernkultur zu machen Danach erfolgt die Vorstellung des Dreiecks des lebendigen Lernens von Arnold, die seine neue Lernkultur begrndet. Hier unterscheidet er zwischen Kopf, Herz und Hand. Inwieweit er sich dabei auf Gedanken der Reformpdagogik beruft, wird zu analysieren sein. Schlielich erfolgt eine Analyse, ob diese Vorstellung des Lernens auch auf den Sozialkundeunterricht bertragen werden kann.
