Einleitend wird ein berblick gegeben ber das aktuelle Konsumverhalten und die Fernsehmotive von Kindern. Dieses erste Kapitel beinhaltet den Stellenwert des Fernsehens unter den Freizeitbeschftigungen, die Verweildauer vor dem Fernseher sowie Grnde fr den Fernsehkonsum von Kindern. Auerdem soll geklrt werden, ob die familire und soziale Situation einen Einfluss auf das Fernsehverhalten nimmt. Den Abschluss dieses einfhrenden Kapitels bildet eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Verstndnis der Fernsehinhalte in Abhngigkeit vom Alter des Zuschauers. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit beschftigt sich mit den gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen. Dabei geht es zunchst um Ablufe whrend des Zuschauens, also um Aufmerksamkeit und um den Einfluss auf die Augen. Es folgen dann die langfristigen Auswirkungen auf den Krper, die Psyche, die kognitive Entwicklung sowie das Verhalten. Bei den psychischen Auswirkungen geht es insbesondere um das Thema Angst, bei den kognitiven und krperlichen Auswirkungen liegen die Schwerpunkte auf der Sprachentwicklung, der Schreib und Lesekompetenz bzw. dem Bewegungsverhalten. Der dritte Teil gibt einen Ausblick auf eine sinnvolle Fernseherziehung in der Schule und im Elternhaus. Dabei wird zunchst jeweils die aktuelle Situation beleuchtet. Im Anschluss soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, ob und wie man das Fernsehen bei richtigem Umgang positiv nutzen und in das Leben der Kinder integrieren kann.
