Einleitung Welche Bedeutung Literatur im Unterricht Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) in der heutigen Zeit beigemessen wird, lsst ein Durchblttern der einschlgigen Lehrwerke wie Themen aktuell" oder Tangram" aus dem HueberVerlag erkennen. Dem Argument eines streng funktionalpragmatisch ausgerichteten Ansatzes des kommunikativen Fremdsprachenunterrichts folgend, dass ein Gedicht beim Lsen einer UBahnFahrkarte nicht hilft, spielen literarische Texte in den erwhnten Lehrwerken keine Rolle. Dabei bieten sich gerade diese Textsorten fr die Verwendung im kommunikativen Unterricht DaF an, da sie authentisch sind und auf Grund ihrer Mehrdeutigkeit Anlass fr echte Kommunikationssituationen bieten. In dieser Arbeit soll jedoch nicht den Ursachen fr die Diskrepanz zwischen den Inhalten der Lehrwerke und den Forderungen einer sich seit den 80er Jahren im Bereich DaF entwickelnden Literaturdidaktik nachgegangen werden, sondern es sollen nach einem kurzen berblick ber die Vernderungen der Funktionsbestimmung von Literatur im Unterricht DaF die verschiedenen Argumente zur Legitimierung des Einsatzes literarischer Texte aufgezeigt und Beispiele methodischer Anstze fr die Unterrichtsgestaltung an einem Liebesgedicht von Erich Kstner dargestellt werden. Fr die Ausfhrungen konnte auf zahlreiche Verffentlichungen zurckgegriffen werden, in denen einerseits das Spezifische einer fremdsprachlichen Literaturdidaktik diskutiert sowie analysiert und anderseits konkrete Unterrichtsvorschlge unterbreitet werden. Besonders zu erwhnen sind in diesem Zusammenhang die Beitrge des GoetheInstituts.
