Ist es doch der Grundsatzcharakter selbst, der hier zum Grundsatz erhoben wird. Wie aber muss ein systembegrndender Grundsatz beschaffen sein? Fichtes 'Begriffsschrift' nimmt ihren Ausgang bei dem Postulat, es msste in einer Wissenschaft "mindestens Ein Satz gewiss seyn, der etwa den brigen seyne Gewissheit mittheilte". Doch wird diese erste Bedingung noch erweitert: Der aufzustellende Grundsatz "kann seine Gewiheit nicht erst durch die Verbindung mit den brigen erhalten, sondern muss sie vor derselben vorher haben." Erst "ein solcher vor der Verbindung vorher und unabhngiger von ihr gewisser Satz heisst ein Grundsatz". Sofern ein Grundsatz der absoluterste eines Denksystems sein soll, muss er demnach nicht nur Gewissheit, sondern unbedingte, ja, schlechthin unbedingte Gewissheit vermitteln. Dieses letztgltig zu leisetn, stellt sich der 1 der 'Grundlage der gesamten Wissenschaftslehre' zur Aufgabe: "Wir haben den absolutersten, schlechthin unbedingten Grundsatz alles menschlichen Wissens aufzusuchen. Beweisen oder bestimmen lt er sich nicht, wenn er absoluterster Grundsatz sein soll." Es liegt notwendig im Begriff der Unbedingtheit, unmittelbar gewiss, nicht deduzierbar, lediglich auffindbar zu sein, denn ein Grundsatz, der sich begrnden liee, wre nicht Grund, sondern bereits Folgesatz und somit bedingt. Nun soll der gesuchte Grundsatz eine "Tathandlung" ausdrcken, und zwar eine solche, "die unter den empirischen Bestimmungen unseres Bewutseins nicht vorkommt".
