Methoden der ProgrammEntwicklung kennt man seitdem es Computer gibt. Auf grund der Vernderung der Leistungen, die auf dem Computer bewltigt werden knnen, verschieben sich ebenfalls seit dieser Zeit die Ziele der Programmierung. Whrend es in der Anfangsphase mehr darauf ankam, mglichst viele Maschinen befehle auf dem verfgbaren kleinen Speicherplatz darzustellen, ging es in den 50er und 60er Jahren primr darum, mglichst schnelle und effektive Programme zu entwickeln, wobei der Schwerpunkt sowohl auf der Geschwindigkeit als auch auf der Speicherknappheit lag. Heute drften die wesentlichen Ziele darin beste hen, Programme so zu entwickeln, da sie mglichst computerunabhngig und nderungsfreundlich sind. Diesem Wandel ist auch die Bezeichnung der ProgrammEntwicklung gefolgt. Heu te wird kaum noch von Programmierung oder SoftwareEntwicklung gesprochen, sondern es wird nur noch SoftwareEngineering betrieben, um zu verdeutlichen, da zur Entwicklung von Programmen eine gewisse Methodik und Systematik vor liegen mu, da Erfahrungen gezeigt haben, da man bei Anwendung dieser Metho dik auch bei individuellen Fragestellungen robuste und kostengnstige Programme erhlt.
