September 2010 gelang den rechtspopulistischen Schwedendemokraten (Sverigedemokraterna, SD) mit 5,7 Prozent erstmals der Einzug in das Parlament. Der Erfolg der Partei, die nun mit 20 Sitzen im Reichstag vertreten ist, verhindert eine eindeutige Mehrheitsbildung einer der etablierten politischen Blcke. Das Wahlergebnis besttigt den skandinavischen Trend der Konstituierung von rechten und rechtspopulistischen Parteien in der Parteienlandschaft und ist wenig berraschend. Der Stimmzuwachs geht zumeist auf Kosten der traditionellen sozialdemokratischen Parteien. Die Sozialdemokratische Arbeiterpartei Schwedens (Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti, SAP) sank auf ein Rekordtief von 30,9 Prozent, das schlechteste Wahlergebnis seit 1914, und projektiert ein noch nie da gewesenes Phnomen' . Warum aber erhalten die Schwedendemokraten gerade Zulauf in einem Staat, der fr Offenheit und Toleranz steht? In Schweden, in dem von Einwanderern' statt von Auslndern' gesprochen wird und das ein sehr liberales Asylrecht ausbt. Die vorliegende Arbeit steht vor der Frage, welche Faktoren zum Wahlerfolg der Partei beigetragen haben. Welche gesellschaftlichen und institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen herrschen in Schweden vor und wie nutzen die Schwedendemokraten diese, um politisch zu ressieren?
