Sie stammt aus Berlin, wo sie zunchst als Stenokontoristin und spter als staatlich anerkannte Erzieherin in heilpdagogischen Heimen und Kindertagessttten arbeitete. Nach Abschluss der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife auf dem zweiten Bildungsweg studierte sie Germanistik und Theater, Film und Fernsehwissenschaften und arbeitete als Regieassistentin, Script/Continuity und Ton und Lichttechnikerin bei verschiedenen Theater, Film und Fernsehproduktionen. Sie schrieb Drehbcher fr Film und Fernsehen, Filmkritiken und Gedichte.
