Jahrhundert zu einer vorbildlichen Form laienchristlicher Frmmigkeitsdarstellung (z. B. Erasmus von Rotterdam) wie auch zum Ausdruck hchsten Heldentums (z. B. Gustav II. Adolf von Schweden). Erstmals werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit Tradition und Funktion dieser Bildlichkeit in ihrem Zusammenwirken von sinnbildlicher Darstellung und der Beweiskraft des Dargestellten durch Bild und Text in einem breiten Spektrum (Emblematik, Einblattdruck bzw. Flugblatt, Traktat, Drama, Lied etc.) verfolgt.
