Um dieses Vorhaben effektiv und effizient zu realisieren, bestehen vielerorts der Wunsch und die Notwendigkeit zur engen Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Fremdenverkehrsbros und kongressrelevanten Unternehmen und Institutionen bzw. zum Ausbau des Kongresswesens im Allgemeinen. Eine Mglichkeit kann in der Verschmelzung eines Fremdenverkehrsbros und eines Kongressbros bestehen. Eine solche Zusammenfhrung kann verschiedene Mglichkeiten der Optimierung bieten, sei es eine Kostenreduktion, eine Verbesserung des Images oder hnliches. In jedem Fall spielt der Begriff Synergie in diesem Zusammenhang eine zentrale Rolle. In der folgenden Ausarbeitung soll erklrt werden, aus welchen Grnden und mit welchen Erwartungen ein Fremdenverkehrsbro und ein Kongressbro fusionieren knnten. Ebenso geht es um die Frage nach der tatschlichen Existenz solcher Flle im Deutschlandtourismus und um alternative Wege, um dieselben Ziele zu erreichen wie durch die Verschmelzung eines Kongressbros mit einem Fremdenverkehrsbro. Die Autorin beruft sich hierbei auf eigens durchgefhrte Befragungen von Geschftsfhrern und Marketingverantwortlichen verschiedener Fremdenverkehrsorganisationen. Begonnen wird jedoch zunchst mit der Definition grundlegender Terme und relevanten Daten und Fakten zum Stdtetourismus, gefolgt von Kapiteln, welche zum einen die Aufgaben der Fremdenverkehrs und Kongressbros nher beleuchten, zum anderen Trends vorstellen, die sich im deutschen Stdtetourismus zunehmend abzeichnen.
