Von 1986 bis 1992 studierte er Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen der technischen Fachrichtung Maschinenbau an der Technischen Hochschule Darmstadt. Diese Arbeit fhrte 1996 zur Promotion an der Technischen Hochschule Darmstadt.
