Villien About the Author Douglas Villien, Sr. is a Baton Rouge land planning consultant and author of four books, Forgotten Baton Rouge, Between the Crossroads, The Artwork of Douglas Villien, and Des Montagnes Aux Prairies/From Mountains to Prairies. He served as a city planner for Baton Rouge from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. He is a native of Abbeville, Louisiana and a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana. His works have been featured in Country Roads Magazine, The Meridional, The Daily Advertiser, The Advocate, American Press, Tarentaise HebdoSavoie, France and other regional newspapers.
