Growers struggle each year to protect their crops from harmful entities. Over the past century there have been many developments to assist in the application of chemicals that could counteract those entities. In nut crops, general chemical application practices consist of an orchard sprayer applying chemicals nonuniformly through the orchard. This text describes the development and justification for an improved orchard sprayer design for nut crops. It also discusses the design and construction process of a new modified sprayer. The final part of the text discusses how the sprayer was analyzed. The sprayer was evaluated for how uniformly it applied chemicals and how its strength and durability performed throughout the testing.
