La Leucemia Mieloide Crnica (LCM) es un trastorno mieloproliferativo que compromete seriamente la salud y el estilo de vida del paciente que la padece. De no ser detectada a tiempo la evolucin de la misma es rpida y letal. Por ello es importante el inicio de la terapia despus de un diagnstico oportuno. La principal causa de resistencia a frmacos en la LMC se debe a la presencia de mutaciones en el dominio kinasa de ABL1. De las casi 90 mutaciones de resistencia conocidas hasta el momento, slo una resulta negativa para la correcta actividad de los tres ITK existentes en el mercado en la actualidad. Se trata de la mutacin T315I de ABL1. La identificacin de T315I es crucial para determinar la prognosis del paciente por parte del mdico tratante. Adems permite considerar la posibilidad de la opcin ltima de trasplante alognico de clulas madre de mdula sea, que en ltima instancia, constituye la verdadera cura para la LMC; la cual desafortunadamente a muy pocos se les puede realizar. La deteccin de esta mutacin se puede hacer mediante ARMSPCR convencional como se propone en el presente trabajo.
