The available literature in selfassessment of language skills and strategies asserts the validity and reliability of selfassessment instruments, mainly checklists and benchmarks, for informative purposes. However, there are researchers who have examined decision making based on selfassessment instruments in EFL/ESL contexts. Either for summative or informative purposes, the assessment and evaluation instrument has to be proven statistically and psycho metrically reliable and valid. The possibility to improve these measures of reliability and validity for selfassessment through providing training has been investigated and examined in the present book.
