The eight lectures that comprise this edition were first delivered by John Davidson Beazley in 1949. They were published in 1951 and soon became a of classical study of ancient Greek vases. This revised edition includes many additional illustrations.

I was excited to receive the revised edition of 'Development of the Attic,' but it arrived with a damaged cover and some pages were dog-eared. The content seems good, but the presentation was a letdown. Very frustrating!

Excellent for Academic Study
As a grad student in classics, this blackfigure edition really helped deepen my understanding. The lectures are well organized and insightful. It could use a bit more modern context, but I'm happy with my purchase!

Insightful Read for Classicists
I recently dove into the revised edition of 'Development of the Attic' and it really brought ancient history to life for me. The blackfigure illustrations are fantastic and add so much context to the lectures. It's a must-have for anyone studying classical texts!

Great Resource, Minor Flaws
I found this revised edition of 'Development of the Attic' quite useful for my research. The content is rich, but some sections felt a bit dense and hard to follow. Still, I appreciate the effort in curating such comprehensive lectures.
