Mara Elena Blanco (La Habana, 1947) ha publicado los ensayos de Asedios al texto literario (1999) y varios volmenes de poesa, entre ellos Posesin por prdida (1990), Alqumica memoria (2001), Mitologuas (2001), danubiomediterrneo / mittelmeerdonau (2005), El amor incontable (2008), Havanity / Habanidad (2010) y Sobresalto al vaco (2015). Curs estudios en New York University, Universit de ParisSorbonne y la cole Pratique des Hautes tudes. Ha sido profesora e investigadora universitaria y desde 1983 es traductora de las Naciones Unidas.
