Los Equipamientos de Educacin Ambiental (EqEA) son un poderoso recurso para procurar los cambios individuales y sociales encaminados a la consecucin de los objetivos propios de la Educacin Ambiental (EA). Desde que surgieran en el Estado espaol, a finales de la dcada de los 70, su evolucin ha estado influida por las diferentes concepciones de la EA desarrolladas a lo largo del tiempo. El estudio de la calidad de los EqEA es un tema recurrente en las investigaciones de los ltimos aos, sin embargo, se ha considerado interesante focalizar la atencin en los EqEA del medio urbano, ya que estos trasladan el punto de mira a las ciudades, lugar donde se originan los mayores problemas ambientales. El objetivo de la presente investigacin es realizar una evaluacin de la calidad de los EqEA urbanos de la Comunidad de Madrid, estudiando su origen y evolucin, sus diferentes concepciones de la EA, las funciones sociales que prestan a la ciudadana y sus tendencias actuales y futuras.
