El presente trabajo constituye un aporte a la protecin ambiental en el sector turstico de la Repblica de Cuba. Se hizo un estudio riguroso de los indicadores ambientales de cuatro hoteles seleccionados, para ver su comportamiento luego de aplicado un Sistema de Gestin Ambiental en cada uno de ellos. Sobre todo se tuvo en cuenta el estado en que se encontarban estos indicadores antes de aplicarse el sistema de Gestin Ambiental. Para la determinacin de indicadores se tuvieron en cuenta a diferentes autores y especialistas de los temas medioambientales. Luego de ternminado este trabajo, que fue adems tesis de maestra hubo gran satisfacin por parte de los hoteleros, pues dispusieron de una herramienta para medir sus resulatdos ambientales en el futuro.
