El DGP es una tcnica para examinar un embrin de 4 o 5 das con el fin de conocer si es portador de enfermedades, su sexo y poder seleccionar tambin entre los embriones obtenidos con la FIV uno que pueda ser donante de sangre del cordn umbilical(beb medicamento). El objetivo de esta tesis doctoral es en primer lugar profundizar en el conocimiento del DGP y en segundo lugar saber cules son las cuestiones ticas ms tratadas en los artculos de revistas biomdicas y bioticas y compararlas. Se estudiaron 94 artculos de revistas biomdicas y 35 de bioticas. El DGP tiene riesgos importantes, tanto para el embrin como para la madre. Tiene una baja efectividad de la tcnica y hay gran prdida de embriones en todo el proceso. Se han analizado los juicios bioticos respecto al DGP tanto en las revistas teniendo en cuenta aspectos como: respeto al embrin, la seleccin de embriones por el sexo, el beb medicamento, si el autor considera que el DGP es un procedimiento eugensico, la seguridad de la tcnica, etc. Desde la biotica personalista es una tcnica que atenta contra la vida, la dignidad humana y de la procreacin y es eugensico.
