Featuring over 1,800 concise definitions of key terms, the Dictionary of the Social Sciences is the most comprehensive, authoritative singlevolume work of its kind. With coverage on the vocabularies of anthropology, sociology, political science, economics, human geography, cultural studies, and Marxism, the Dictionary is an integrated, easytouse, AtoZ reference tool. Designed for students and nonspecialists, it examines classic and contemporary scholarship including basic terms, concepts, theories, schools of thought, methodologies, issues, and controversies. As a true dictionary, it also contains concise, jargonfree definitions that explain the rich, sometimes complex language of these increasingly visible fields.

The dictionary is solid, but I wish it included more practical examples of the terms in use. I find myself flipping through pages looking for context. Still, it's helpful for quick definitions, just not as comprehensive as I had hoped.

Arrived damaged, disappointing
I was really looking forward to using this dictionary, but it arrived with a bent cover and some pages crumpled. I can't even use it in class like this. I contacted support, but I'm not thrilled about the situation. Hopefully, they can send me a replacement soon!

Great for sociology students!
I picked up this dictionary for my social sciences class, and it's been super useful. The definitions are clear and concise, making complex terms a lot easier to understand. Definitely a must-have resource for anyone diving into sociology or psychology!
