Eine italienische Familie namens Paletta schreibt Arbeitsrechtsgeschichte. Wie kaum ein anderer Fall hat dieser Rechtsstreit die Gerichte beschftigt sowie Arbeitsrechtswissenschaft und praxis polarisiert. Die Palettas fahren fast jedes Jahr in ihrem Jahresurlaub nach Italien. Dort erkranken alle nahezu gleichzeitig immer wieder. Schlielich weigert sich der Arbeitgeber, Entgeltfortzahlung zu leisten, da die Arbeitsunfhigkeitsbescheinigungen mibruchlich erlangt worden seien. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Hintergrnde, bercksichtigt die kritische Literatur und vergleicht die Situation in Deutschland mit der in Frankreich und Grobritannien. Die daraus folgenden Ergebnisse fhren zu Vorschlgen, wie die Gesetzgebung und Praxis bei der Gewhrung von Entgeltfortzahlung aufgrund rztlicher Atteste gendert werden mte.
