Die Darstellungsweise der augusteischen Herrschaftsprogrammatik in Ovids Metamorphosen, Untersuchungsgegenstand dieser Studie, gibt hierauf eine differenzierte Anwort: Ovid hlt der medienwirksamen Selbstinszenierung des Prinzeps den Spiegel vor und scheut sich auch nicht, Apoll, den Schutzgott des Augustus, mit allzu menschlichen Gefhlen und Regungen zu versehen. Doch dabei sind Anspielungen auf die Zeitgeschichte fr Ovid mehr literarisches Spiel als politisches Bekenntnis.
