Auf den Absatzmrkten sehen sich die Unternehmen einer immer grer werdenden Anzahl an Konkurrenzunternehmen gegenber, das Angebot der Produkte und Dienstleistungen steigt und wird somit fr den Konsumenten substituierbar und die Verkrzung der Produktlebenszyklen erfordern eine gesteigerte Innovationsttigkeit der Produzenten. Mit zunehmender Komplexitt und Dynamik der Prozessketten vom Lieferanten bis zum Endkunden, steigen auch die logistischen Aktivitten in den Unternehmen. Diese zu organisieren und zu analysieren ist das Ziel des LogistikControllings. Die Organisation der vernderten Unternehmensumwelt fordert eine neue strategische Ausrichtung und deren Umsetzung auf operativer Ebene der Unternehmen. Um die Strategie den Marktanforderungen anzupassen, ist es unabdingbar den steigenden Umfang der logistisch relevanten Informationen zu bewltigen. Doch nicht nur der strategiebezogene Informationsbedarf steigt, sondern auch der Bedarf an Daten fr den operativen Bereich nimmt zu. Dabei werden traditionelle Kostenrechnungssysteme und verfahren sowie Kennzahlensysteme der Anforderung, der Unternehmensfhrung das entsprechende Datenmaterial zur Verfgung zu stellen, nicht mehr gerecht.
