Zeitlich ist dieses Werk somit einzuordnen in die Bewegung der Neuen Subjektivitt" und Neuen Innerlichkeit".2 Diese literarische Richtung lsst sich in zwei unterschiedliche Phasen einteilen. In der ersten Phase ging es den Autoren wie zum Beispiel Martin Walser darum, politisch engagierte Texte zu publizieren. Bei Peter Handke wie auch bei anderen Autoren (Botho Strauss, Thomas Bernhard) hingegen ging es nicht um eine direkte politische Beeinflussung der Leserschaft. Ihre Werke erscheinen auf den ersten Blick nicht als politisch. Die Besonderheit liegt statt dessen darin, anhand einer einzelnen Person auf die sozialen Lebensumstnde, in denen die Menschen leben und unter denen sie oftmals leiden, hinzuweisen. Aus diesem Grund kann man Handkes Erzhlung Wunschloses Unglck" unter die Begriffe der Neuen Subjektivitt" und Neuen Innerlichkeit" einordnen, muss aber dabei beachten, dass hier der Autor den Weg whlt, ber das Leben einer einzelnen Person auf gesellschaftliche Missstnde aufmerksam zu machen. Der folgenden Arbeit liegt eine Dreiteilung zugrunde. In dem ersten Teil soll die Frage bearbeitet werden, aus welcher Motivation heraus Peter Handke das Buch verfasst hat. Dabei soll sowohl auf die vom Erzhler genannten Grnde eingegangen werden, als auch auf mglicherweise nicht auf den ersten Blick erkennbare Motive. In diesem ersten Kapitel soll versucht werden darzustellen, dass der Erzhler die Geschichte der Mutter nutzt, um ber sich selbst zu schreiben. In einem zweiten Schritt soll durch eine Analyse
