English summary: Luise Schottroff summarizes the history of theological writings on the preparation for dying in the 16th Century. Luther's Sermon On Preparing To Die (1519) was widely commented by contemporary theologians. German text. German description: Die vorreformatorischen Schriften zur Sterbekunst (Ars moriendi) waren durch ihre Bilder und kurzen Texte bereits sehr verbreitet. Martin Luther fuhrte diese Gattung in seinem Sermon von der Bereitung zum Sterben (1519) fort. Er verwendete dafur auch Gedanken aus einem 1518 anonym veroffentlichten Libellus auro praestantiora, einem Buchlein vorzuglicher als Gold uber die Vorbereitung fur das Sterben und stellte in seiner Schrift die teuflischen Anfechtungen mit Tod, Holle, Gottes Zorn und Sunde in den Mittelpunkt. Auf sein Traktat folgten viele Schriften von Theologen, die seine Anliegen aufnahmen. Luise Schottroff stellt diese Literatur hier erstmalig zusammen.
