Zuerst wird dabei auf die Produktion und Reserven der Fossilen Brennstoffe Erdl, Erdgas und Steinkohle in Sdamerika eingegangen. In diesem Zusammenhang werden auch die Auenhandelstrme mit diesen Primrenergietrgern dargestellt. Im Anschluss daran werden die Vorkommen der sdamerikanischen Bergbau und Tagebauindustrie beschrieben. Wobei die Vorkommen an Eisen, ausgewhlten NE Metallen (Kupfer, Aluminium, Zink) und Edelmetallen behandelt werden. Die Produktionszahlen, Reserven und der mit diesen Bodenschtzen betriebene Auenhandel wird beleuchtet, ergnzt um die ebenfalls wichtig Bedeutung des jeweiligen Rohstoffes im internationalen Kontext; Einige Rohstoffe sind in vielen Regionen der Welt vorzufinden whrend andere Rohstoffe primr nur in einer Teilregion der Welt vorkommen. Dabei ist es interessant herauszufinden, ob der sdamerikanische Kontinent ber Bodenschtze verfgt die berwiegend nur dort vorkommen und es zu einer Abhngigkeitsbeziehung kommt. Ebenso wird die Frage aufgearbeitet, ob die gefrderten Bodenschtze auf dem sdamerikanischen Kontinent eine Weiterverarbeitung im Frderland erfahren oder ausschlielich gefrdert und danach exportiert werden und ob ein Groteil der wirtschaftlichen Wertschpfung die Region verlsst. Neben der konomischen Analyse der Bedeutung sdamerikanischer Bodenschtze fr die Staaten Sdamerikas, werden auch die kologischen und sozialen Folgeschden der Bergbauindustrie aufgegriffen und nicht auer Acht gelassen.
