Der Autor beschreibt die Zusammensetzung der deutschen Landstreitkrfte und deren Einbindung in die Struktur der NATO. Da sich die deutschen Streitkrfte in einem stndigen Transformationsprozess befinden, ist die Arbeit eine gute Momentaufnahme fr den Zustand der Bundeswehr vor den Ereignissen des 11. Septembers 2001 und den Erfordernissen im Kampf gegen den internationalen Terrorismus. Es ist spannend zu lesen, wo der Autor und Reserveoffizier die Grenzen fr Auslandseinstze sieht und sich seine Vorstellungen heute besttigen oder widerlegen lassen. Somit wird die Arbeit zur interessanten Diskussionsgrundlage fr alle an diesem Thema interessierten Personengruppen.
