Lnder Mittelalter, Frhe Neuzeit, Note: 2, OttovonGuerickeUniversitt Magdeburg, 25 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Christianisierung/Mission stlich der Elbe zur Zeit der Ottonen bewegt die Forschung schon seit langer Zeit und hat zu verschiedensten Standpunkten bezglich der Thematik gefhrt. Diese Hausarbeit geht dabei speziell auf die Regierungszeit Ottos III. (9941002) ein, also die Jahre zwischen der Schwertleite, als Symbol fr die bernahme der Regierungsverantwortung, und dem Tod des Kaisers 1002. Fr die Missionierung im Osten Europas in diesem Zeitraum fallen zwei Ereignisse besonders ins Auge: Zum einen die Errichtung des Erzbistums Gnesen im Jahr 1000 und zum anderen die des ungarischen Erzbistums Gran, welches auf der Synode zu Ravenna im April 1001 von Kaiser und Papst besttigt wurde.1 Aus Grnden des Umfangs soll in dieser Hausarbeit nur auf die Grndung des Erzbistums Gnesen eingegangen werden.
