Sport ist ein unverzichtbares Element, ein aktiver Bestandteil des Gemeinwesens und steht im Zuge weitreichender Mediatisierung vermehrt im ffentlichen Interesse. Doch trotz seines Stellenwerts muss sich der Sport Prioritt gegenber anderen Bereichen erkmpfen und sich seine Untersttzung suchen. Er bentigt neben dem ffentlichen Interesse v.a. die Leistung und Hilfe der ffentlichen Hand und ist auf ergnzende finanzielle Mittel angewiesen. Der Sportsektor ist von weit reichenden Vernderungen betroffen. Diese Auswirkungen sind v.a. bezogen auf die finanzielle Untersttzung des Sports und den bestehenden Frdersysteme sprbar. Hier lassen sich starke Schwankungen beobachten. Sportliche Hchstleistungen sind keine Zufallsprodukte, sondern das Ergebnis systematischer Frderpolitik. Besonders im internationalen Vergleich zeigen sich starke Unterschiede. Die hier vorliegende Arbeit analysiert rckblickend die Sportfrdermittel in Deutschland und gibt einen berblick ber Sportfrderstrukturen in der BRD. Diese werden in Bezug zu ausgesuchten Einflussfaktoren und zu Frdersystemen und strukturen ausgewhlter Nationen gestellt. Aus den gewonnenen Ergebnissen werden Handlungsempfehlungen und Lsungsanstze fr eine zuknftige Sportfrderung abgeleitet.
