Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Anglistik Literatur, Note: 2,3, FriedrichAlexanderUniversitt ErlangenNrnberg (Institut fr Anglistik und Amerikanistik), Veranstaltung: HS George Orwell and His Times, 22 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit soll anhand seines ersten verffentlichen Buches "Down and Out in Paris and London" und den beiden Romanen "A Clergymans Daughter" und "Keep the Aspidistra Flying" gezeigt werden wie Orwell das englische Klassensystem darstellt, welche persnliche Entwicklung er in seinen Betrachtungen durchlebte und welche Schlussfolgerungen seine Erfahrungen nach sich zogen. Da ein Hauptaugenmerk bei George Orwell immer auf der Frage lag, ob ein berwinden der Klassengrenzen mglich sei, soll auch in dieser Arbeit der Schwerpunkt auf diesem Problemkomplex liegen. Hier soll die Entwicklung Orwells, vom jungen, schuldbewussten Schriftsteller, der ein Einreien der Klassengrenzen nicht nur fr mglich sondern auch fr notwendig hielt, hin zum anerkannten Autor, der diese Thesen klar verneint und die berwindung des Hasses, der Vorurteile und der Isolation, nicht aber die Gleichmachung der Gesellschaft als oberstes Ziel ausweist, bewiesen werden
