So verdankt die Deutsche Welle ihren Ausnahmestatus als Rundfunkanstalt des Bundes in einem fderalen Rundfunksystem unmittelbar der politischen Zielstellung. Diese Arbeit untersucht den medienpolitischen Wandel beim Auslandsrundfunk der Bundesrepublik im Lichte der deutschen Frage. Die politische Zsur der Jahre 1989/1990 musste sich nachhaltig auf Selbstverstndnis und Auftrag der Deutschen Welle auswirken. Denn seit der Grndung im Jahre 1953 gehrte es zu den ersten Aufgaben des Senders, die Idee und den Auftrag der deutschen Einheit nach innen und auen zu vertreten und im Ausland wach zu halten. In der politischen Debatte wird gefordert, dass Deutschland eine neue Auenpolitik betreiben sollte, oder es wird befrchtet, es betreibe eine solche bereits. Gab es oder gibt es in absehbarer Zeit einen Wandel in der deutschen Auenpolitik, der als Abkehr vom ZivilmachtKonzept hin zu einem Selbstverstndnis als Nationalstaat wie andere auch, mit dem Potenzial einer europischen Gromacht' zu verstehen ist? Dann drften sich beim Auslandsrundfunk als einem unentbehrlichen Mittel der Auenpolitik' Vernderungen bemerkbar machen, welche beispielsweise die Befrchtungen von einer Rckkehr zur Machtpolitik sttzen. Diese Arbeit geht der Frage nach und untersucht die Vernderungen bei der politischen Einflussnahme auf die Deutsche Welle.
