Nach 40 Jahren, in denen zwei politisch und wirtschaftlich gegenstzlich orientierte Staaten nebeneinander existiert hatten, kam die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands pltzlich und unverhofft. Voller Zuversicht und Optimismus blickte die deutsche Bevlkerung der gemeinsamen Zukunft damals entgegen. Doch ist die Wiedervereinigung auf allen Ebenen gelungen, sind die beiden deutschen Teilstaaten tatschlich nahtlos zu einer Einheit zusammengewachsen? Die vorliegende Arbeit beleuchtet die deutsche Wiedervereinigungsgeschichte aus einer kulturwissenschaftlichen Perspektive und versucht so herauszuarbeiten, welche Folgen die Wende insbesondere fr die ostdeutsche Bevlkerung mit sich gebracht hat. Fr die BergerInnen der DDR bedeutete die Wende nicht nur eine Integration in ein neues wirtschaftliches und politisches System, sie mussten sich zudem in einer anders geprgten Kultur orientieren. Um herauszuarbeiten, welchen kulturellen Schwierigkeiten sich die Ostdeutschen gegenbersahen, bietet im Rahmen dieser Arbeit das Kulturschockmodell Wolf Wagners eine theoretische Basis. Mithilfe dieses Modells wird aufgezeigt, ob und in welcher Form bezglich der Wendezeit von einem zu verarbeitenden Kulturschock gesprochen werden kann. Anschlieend wird dargestellt, welche Folgen dieser Kulturschock mit sich gebracht hat und welche Prsenz diese Folgen auch heute noch im Alltag vieler Ostdeutschen haben. In einem letzten Schritt wird ein Format aus dem Bereich des Neurolinguistischen Programmierens (NLP) vorgestellt, welches einen mglichen Lsungsansatz bietet, die Folgen des innerdeutschen Kultur
