Diese Poli tik ist in Europa sei t ihren Anfangen mit groBer Aufmerksamkeit verfolgt worden. In der Bundesrepublik Deutsch land hat sie die Debatte tiber die zuktinftige Rolle der DBP im Fernmeldewesen wesentlich beeinfluBt. Es erschien deshalb von Interesse, den vorerst abschlieBenden und sicherlich umstrit tens ten Akt der Deregulierung, die Zerschlagung des einstmali gen Fernmeldemonopols, einer genaueren Betrachtung zu unter ziehen. Dies galt urn so mehr, als eine umfassende Studie der AT & TEntflechtung bisher in deutscher Sprache nicht vor liegt. Auch in den USA sind bislang nur einzelne Aufsatze als Gesamtdarstellungen greifbar.
