Le Barbier de Sville ou la Prcaution inutile (1775) und La Folle Journe ou le Mariage de Figaro (1784) werden auch als Spanische Komdien' bezeichnet. Beide spielen in bzw. in der Nhe von Sevilla in Spanien. Der dritte und letzte Teil, das Drama L'Autre Tartuffe ou la Mre Coupable (1792) spielt sich in Paris ab. Da es durch die Figuren und die Handlung, die aufeinander aufbaut, eine Verbindung zwischen diesen drei Werken gibt, werden sie von Beaumarchais selbst auch als Roman der Familie Almaviva' bezeichnet. So kommt der Groteil der Figuren, wie zum Beispiel Figaro, der Graf und die Grfin, in allen drei Stcken vor, obwohl man sie auch unabhngig voneinander lesen kann. Wie schon erwhnt, handelt es sich bei den ersten zwei Stcken um Komdien, beim dritten Teil um ein Drama. Aus diesem Grund soll im nchsten Abschnitt kurz auf die Komdie allgemein und im 18.
