Die Musik prgte eine ganze Generation und fand schlielich sogar ber Amerika Einzug nach Europa. Besonders deutlich wird die immense Bedeutung des Bossa Nova daran, dass Brasilien unter dem Prsidenten Luiz Incio Lula da Silva am 25.01.2009 zum ersten Mal den O dia nacional da Bossa Nova' einfhrte. Damit sollte zudem das fnzigjhrige Jubilum der Bossa Nova Bewegung gewrdigt werden. Das Datum wurde natrlich nicht willkrlich ausgewhlt, sondern ist auf das Geburtsdatum Antnio Carlos Jobims zurckzufhren. Das Ziel dieser Bachelorarbeit soll sein, die Entstehung der Bossa NovaMusik anhand der wichtigsten Ereignisse zu beschreiben, sowie ihre Stilelemente zu analysieren, um schlielich untersuchen zu knnen, ob in dem aktuellen Musikprojekt Nouvelle Vague' Stilelemente des Bossa Nova zu finden sind. In der Arbeit soll der zeitliche Fokus auf die Bltezeit 1958/59 bis 1964 des Bossa Nova und der inhaltliche Fokus auf die konkreten Entstehungsbedingungen gelegt werden. Joo Gilbertos Personalstil soll als Grundlage fr die Erarbeitung der musikalischen Parameter dienen. Es soll keine vollstndige, chronologische Abwicklung aller Ereignisse, Konzerte, Alben und Musikerkarrieren darstellen.Die zentralen Thesen der Arbeit gehen der Frage nach, ob der Bossa Nova ein eigenstndiges Genre darstellt oder nur ein moderner Interpretationsstil des Samba ist. Ferner soll der Grad des nordamerikanischen Jazzeinflusses diskutiert werden, um zu klren, ob der Bossa Nova eine eigenstndige brasilianische Musikrichtung oder lediglich eine Nachahmung des nordamerikanischen Jazz ist.
