Ein aus den Handschriftenverhltnissen abgeleiteter Leittext der Familie Ghonorez und der Text des Ende 1802 unter dem Titel Die Familie Schroffenstein erschienenen Erstdrucks des Kleistschen Werks werden im Paralleldruck dargeboten. Die Ausgabe enthlt zustzlich eine vollstndige Transkription der Handschrift mit Verzeichnung aller Varianten, einschlielich der bertragung des der Handschrift vorausgegangenen Entwurfs Die Familie Thierrez. Eine von Klaus Kanzog beigefgte Hadschriftenbeschreibung gibt Aufschlu ber Gestalt, Datierung und Provenienz des Manuskripts. Den Abschlu bildet ein editorischer Kommentar zur Konjekturalkritik.
