Eine groe Anzahl an Seminaren, Kursen oder Workshops werden unter dem Oberbegriff Coaching ausgeschrieben. Die Nutzung des Titels schwimmt beinahe auf einer inflationren Welle. Es lsst sich nicht immer genau ableiten was hinter dem Titel Coaching steckt: Training oder Beratung. Dabei gibt es im Coaching unterschiedliche Sichtweisen. Zum einen auf die berufliche Perspektive bezogen und zum anderen wird das Privatleben auch mit einbezogen um die WorkLifeBalance zu betrachten. Sobald aber die Betrachtungsweise mehr auf private Probleme abzielt, wird natrlich obiges Zitat nicht mehr gltig, da in diesem die berufliche Leistungssteigerung ausdrckt. Da Coaching nicht nur fr berufliche und private Problemstellungen genutzt wird, sondern auch im Sport einbezogen wird, ist eine genaue Definition schwierig. Selbst im englischen Sprachgebrauch steht Coaching fr einen Fhrungsstil, was wiederum eine Differenzierung des Begriffes Coaching nach sich zieht. Der Begriff Fhrung und seine Wirkungsweise hat bisher eine viel ausgiebigere Forschung erfahren. Die englische Bedeutung des Coaching als Fhrungsstil wurde in den 80er Jahren mit der deutschen Sichtweise Coaching als individuelle und begleitende Beratung in Berhrung gebracht.
